Appearance: Miso has a small frame, slim and slender. He stands at the unimpressive height of 5'3". He has long blonde hair and hazel eyes.

A typical outfit for Miso is a loose button-up silk shirt, either white or a dark shade, that is more often than not no more than half buttoned, black leather pants, leather boots, and for when he goes out and especially in colder weather, a long dark trenchcoat. He tends to decorate himself with silver jewelry; when he goes all out, he is usually seen wearing about three or four rings on his fingers, a crucifix around his neck, and a silver dangling heart earring.

Personality: Miso is the kind of person who needs to feel loved and wanted. Where this trait came from it's hard to say- he grew up with loving, doting parents, was an only child and therefore didn't have to compete for his parents' affections. It is simply a dominating quality to Miso's personality- he is constantly seeking attention and desires approval from his fans and from Ryuuzaki. He is a very earnest person who goes after what he wants with all the smarts, cunning, and determination it takes until he achieves his goal. He tends to want more abstract things rather than material (though material objects are nice too), such as fame, popularity, and his Ryuuzaki's love and approval. At times, he may show this by clinging or being overly pushy with his own emotions- this tends to happen more often in private with Ryuuzaki than in public.

Because of his need to be accepted and desired, it makes sense that Miso's occupation is that of a model and actor. As a result, Miso tends to emphasize physical appearance, and is very concerned with his self-image. He tends to think highly of himself, especially when it comes to his appearance.

Miso has a black and white moral viewpiont- he sees moral conflicts mostly in a 'good vs. evil' light, where there is a clear 'good guy' and 'villain'. There are rarely any grey shades in Miso's view. It is this tendancy to simplify moral conflicts that makes it easier on Miso's conscience to justify murder. The person who killed his parents was clearly evil, therefore the person who killed the murderer must be good. Through this kind of thinking, it was natural for Miso to idolize Kira.

Abilities/Strengths: His most unusual ability is the power of the Shinigami eyes he exchanged for half of his life. The eyes give Miso the ability to see people's names and lifespans. This makes it a lot easier to use the Death Note on people who have aliases, and is a useful tool to Kira.

Miso's primary strength, though, would be his sex appeal. He knows he's hot and feels no shame in using his looks to his advantage.

Weapons: The Death Note is Miso's weapon, though he wouldn't view it as such. The notebook is his way of helping Ryuuzaki create a better world; it is a tool rather than a weapon. If Miso were to list his weapons, it would be his looks.

Weaknesses: Major weakness/character flaw is Miso's simplification of moral conflicts (as discussed earlier). It makes him seem a more simple person on the whole, which isn't a proper characterization of him. He may see the world as less complicated than most people, and some people think that makes Miso a less intelligent person overall. However, it just means he doesn't see the grey shades most people do. This is a problem, as some moral judgments he makes are questionable when considering the grey.

Miso's main weakness is Ryuuzaki. He wants his love and approval above all else, and does whatever he asks of him. When they first met, Miso asked Ryuuzaki to use him. Heis willing to be a tool to Ryuuzaki, but is always hoping that true feelings will form for him eventually.

History: Amane Miso was born December 25, 1984 in Kyoto, where he lived with his parents in a loving home. He was an only child, and his parents spoiled him while he was growing up- anything that Miso wanted, he got. It was a rather uneventful childhood, but it was a happy one.

When he graduated from high school, instead of going to college (academics had never been a big interest for Miso growing up, and his parents hadn't emphasized it too much anyway), he looked into a career as a model. Miso had always been interested in fashion, and at age 17 he was offered a contrat at Yoshida Productions.
Quickly, Miso gained fame as a hot up-and-coming model with a small but dedicated following. He continued to live with his parents even as his career took off, and used his money to repay them for all the love they gave him growing up.

And then, one night, his parents were murdered by a robber who broke into their house. They were stabbed right in front of Miso; the experience was traumatizing. Even worse was when the murderer was caught, tried, and released based on lack of evidence. Miso was beside himself with frustration and sorrow- he even wished that he could kill the murderer himself, though he knew that he couldn't possibly do such a thing. So when, soon after the trial, Kira passed judgement on his parents' murderer, Miso was delighted, and he knew that he had to meet Kira one day to thank him. He became his idol, and he made public statements in support of Kira (his parents' murders, the trial of the murderer and his subsequent death by Kira were all public knowledge, at least for Miso's many fans- all those events were heavily discussed on various Miso fansites on the Internet).

This desire to meet Kira grew when he received the Death Note from a shinigami named Jealous, which happened not long after Miso himself almost faced death, when a stalker one night said she loved Miso and that she was going to kill him so that no one else could have him; this declaration was most likely prompted by the fact that Miso's homosexual orientation was well known to the public. Somehow he survived the sudden and frightening encounter, when the woman suddenly walked away from him and collapsed on the street. When Jealous explained what the Death Note was capable of doing, Miso immediately formed a plan on how to use it to meet Kira, and soon after, he moved to Tokyo. He sent tapes to a television station, declaring that he was Kira to catch the true Kira's attention.

It wasn't more than a few weeks time before Miso got the opportunity to find Kira- a young man by the name of Luxaky Lawliet- and a few days after finding him, he met him face-to-face. In those few days, an interesting thing happened- Miso had fallen in love with Luxaky. He'd always admired Kira since he'd punished his parents' murderer, but when he saw Luxaky that first time, it was love at first sight, and that feeling never changed. During their first meeting, Miso told Luxaky- who asked her to call him Ryuuzaki from then on- that all he wanted was for him to be his lover, and that if he dated him, he would do anything for him, that he would be his eyes (as he'd made the eye deal with Jealous to see every person's name and lifespan in exchange for half his life). Ryuuzaki promised that he would pretend to be his lover, and Miso was satisfied with that, convinced that he would make him love him eventually.

A few days later, Miso was arrested as a second Kira suspect, after meeting Ryuuzaki at his college, where he studied law, and unknowingly meeting L for the first time as well (L being the unknown person who declared that Kira and his actions were evil, and who had vowed to catch him.) After his arrest, he spent nearly two months confined in a straight jacket, his eyes covered, and undergoing constant questioning from L, with only the strength of his love for Ryuuzaki keeping him going. He was forced within the first week, though, to give up ownership of the Death Note to protect Ryuuzaki. After more than fifty days of standing in front of a camera, unable to move or see, and being questioned about Kira, Miso was finally released.

He was still the main suspect for the second Kira, however, so Miso remained under L's surveillance, this time meaning he had to live at the taskforce headquarters, and that Giovanni, one of the police officers, was to be his manager. But he got to work on a movie and he got to see Ryuuzaki, so Miso was happy enough with the arrangements. He was even happier when he got to play a part in the Kira investigation, as Ryuuzaki told him he wanted to catch Kira and prove to L- whom they called Light- that he and Miso were innocent.

The suspect was a member of Yotsuba, and Miso had an opportunity to be interviewed by them, something this Kira would be interested in as it was well-known that Miso had been a suspect in the Kira investigation. While at the company headquarters, something surprising happened- Miso met Jealous again, though he had no memory of the shinigami. Jealous told Miso that he was, in fact, the second Kira just as Light suspected, and that Ryuuzaki had been Kira, and he had a plan to become Kira again. Miso was able to use this knowledge to get evidence on Namikawa, whom Jealous revealed to Miso was the current Kira, and give it to Light and Ryuuzaki to help further their investigation, all the while knowing that Ryuuzaki was Kira and that soon he would be able to help him make the world a better place again.

And that is what happened. Miso didn't know all the details, only that after Namikawa was caught, Ryuuzaki got his memory back and then told Miso where to find his Death Note, so he regained his memories of being Kira as well. Soon after that, L died, and then started four years of happiness for Miso. Kira was gaining power in the world as he and Ryuuzaki passed judgement on countless criminals and gained the support of nations across the world.

Career-wise, Miso was soaring: model, movie star, and then she added musician to that list as he started singing as well. But nothing made her happier than when he and Ryuuzaki moved in together. Everything was looking good, nothing could bring him down...

But then surfaced a man who called himself 'B'. He knew about the Death Note somehow and had kidnapped the NPA director in order to force the Kira Task Force to forfeit the notebook to him. Ryuuzaki, who had taken on the name of L and led the task force, was not so easily swayed at first, and had Miso kill the director via Death Note. Thinking that since his hostage had been done away with, B would give up, Ryuuzaki was surprised when B contacted the task force with the news that he had a new hostage- Nate River, Ryuuzaki's adopted brother. Nate was an intelligent young man and could have handled the situation most likely, but Ryuuzaki worried about him and gave in to B's demands, trading the Death Note that had belonged to Namikawa for his brother's safe return. But of course Ryuuzaki had a plan to get the Death Note back; what it was exactly Miso didn't ask, though he was given a part in it; he had to find among many criminal photographs the one that was working without a lifespan- that would be the one in possession of the Death Note. Miso must have helped somehow, as they were successful.

But with the threat of B gone, another challenger surfaced, someone who called himself "S" yet claimed to be the original L's true successor. Miso, who is mostly removed now from the Kira investigation, doesn't know how this will impact his and Ryuuzaki's plans; all he knows is that it's become far too busy for his Ryuuzaki, and he sees him less and less nowadays. When they do see each other, Ryuuzaki is much more quiet and withdrawn than normal- and he's quiet and withdrawn to begin with. Miso hopes things will go back to normal for them soon...

...though his recent arrival to Econtra may make that difficult.
